My Kids and Their pets

Mr Sham and  I used to keep cats as our pets, but the hobby came to an abrupt end when we were blessed with one kid after another in about 20 odd years.....taking care of children takes more of our free time but hey, who is complaining. They come in as a blessing and we believe each one of them is a gift, especially wrapped and delivered in the best beautiful package from Allah.

Thus, I guess, it becomes a norm if our children also continue this hobby to fulfil their free time.  Looking after  pets is actually a good therapy practice as expressing your love and care towards animals is really rewarding. Why? Well, one thing, animals never complain, they never make you angry, they are never demanding.  They just happily accept whatever we offer them and therefore, our attention to them  is purely honest.

Along, started keeping a tortoise as his pet....don't ask me why he chooses this green, shell-back animal...maybe there is something nostalgic about this...hehehe he knows better.  Honestly, I was bemused by his sudden interest in tortoise.....cubala cari menatang lain......but that is his choice...as long as he knows how to keep this animal clean..surprisingly, his friends will take turn looking after it when Along returns home every year. I just hope they will not choose it as their practical specimen.....

At home, Atih is keeping herself occupied with some fish....one tank outside and one small aquarium in the house...plus now she brought home 2 small tortoises ...mana hang amik ni?...maybe that reminds her of Along.......keeping fish has become our on off hobby actually. Many died in our hands but the interest never dies....so i let her do that to keep herself busy.

Before this, Eman took interest in hamsters......this one did not get my vote of interest....even though he kept the cage clean, the smell could be unbearable....and i was very scared of the diseases caused by mites n their species...Sadly, the hamsters died when he left for boarding school.....i am not saying that i am happy, but i pray hamster will not be his choice anymore.

Now, Bob is taking a keen care of stray cats in UIA......memang Bob tak dak kerja....short sem course is very relaxing, i guess, thus his free time is spent chasing after stray cats....later i have to send extra money for cats food.....i hope he is taking this as a big responsibility because cats are felines that can get so attached to whoever pays attention to them. They are our companion.  Even Rasulullah kept cats, thus, surely there is something special about this hobby. What worries me is, who will take care of them when Bob returns for hariraya...think about that, boy!.

Meow,meow,meow..........................
