Today, after fetching Atih, umi and akak went to Yawata...konon nak shopping....umi bought 2 shirts for abah...then akak wanted to buy pants and a blouse....tengok harga ngalah baju umi...but she was adamant about it so umi relented...but umi asked her to pay RM20...saja bagi dia rasa keluar duit sikit.....happilly we went home...atih also got one t shirt.....
Umi recalls when umi was 12, umi really wanted to buy a jean skirt.(masa tu trendy la)...the price was RM10 but tok was quite reluctant. at that time rm10 equals rm100 now....but umi did not budge...nak juga,nak juga....nak bergaya dpn cousin waktu raya nanti.....
Finally, tok paid for the skirt....umi was beaming with happiness....not realizing that tok had to sacrifice for umi....maklumlah tokwan cuma pesawah....duit amat payah at that time (1976).
However, tok, out of love, did not want to disappoint umi so she relented ,just like what umi did today for akak....history repeats itself.......
thats why umi has a very soft spot for children coz if possible umi does not want my children to suffer like what umi experienced....however, umi got undivided attention but my children have to share everything so it is only right if umi gives in a bit....tak salah kan....cuma umi tak ajar anak2 beli baju berjenama sebab nak ikut kawan...itu PANTANG.........if later they can earn their own money, they can buy whatever they want...but first....give a CRV to umi......ha ha ha.....(keeps on dreaming......)sekali semua tak sempat2 nak kawin....umi gigit jari........
